MxHacks was a Mendix World pre-event, taking place om April 15th one day prior to Mendix World, the biggest low-code event of the year. MxHacks was a hackathon for those who wanted to put their skills and knowledge to the test and make things that matter.
Cas Helwig, Luc Rosenbrand, Oussama el Bachiri and Ritchie Slangen represented Bizzomate, in a team of four. They got 24 hours to build an app that mattered. Their business case consisted of building an application to help aid workers and refugees in migrant camps. In order to do this, they had to consider the needs of an aid worker as they intake a refugee or migrant family into camp and the needs of the refugee and their family as they adjust to life in a camp.
The challenge was an excellent fit for Team Bizzomate, as each Bizzomate strives to invest 10% of their working time in social initiatives. We are volunteering for Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland, Stichting Mee, Stichting Present, Ronald McDonalds Huis and many more.
After 24 hours, a panel of judges assessed the solutions on the following criteria: vision, design, innovation, completeness and pitch.
The application Team Bizzomate has built, named Refunity, beat out 24 other teams, who participated in the SIG Quality Challenge, with the highest maintainability score of 4.5 stars! You can imagine, we’re extremely proud of these four amazing developers!
