Charles: “Being part of your colleagues’ development gives a lot of energy”

This year, we celebrate our 10th anniversary. In the past decade, we have grown from a small group of people to a company with 70 colleagues, celebrated many successes, and made great memories together. For this occasion, we ask colleagues from the very beginning about their fondest memories. Charles Bronzwaer shares his experiences from the past 10 years.

“My start at Bizzomate came about in a special way. I knew the founder Marc Gelissen because I once had an interview at his previous company. Our interactions were pleasant but ultimately did not lead to a collaboration. When I heard that Marc had started a new company, I contacted him again. After a nice conversation, he asked me to build and present an application, something we still ask of applicants, after which I could start at Bizzomate. The initial phase was quite hectic, but we immediately had a very nice dynamic. Not everything was set up yet, but that meant there was room to take the initiative. Together, we had this can-do mentality, in order to make the company a success.”

“Low-code was hardly known yet. Back then it was still called rapid application development. We were really pioneers with low-code and were already fully convinced of the technology ourselves, we just had to convince our customers that it could work for them as well. There was more that we sometimes had to explain, such as the time we spend on corporate social responsibility goals. Charities initially thought we were trying to sell software, instead of helping them selflessly.”

“What I like best about the past 10 years is that colleagues who came in as interns have developed into experienced consultants, who can effortlessly manage multiple projects. This has taught me that people can really flourish in the right environment, and rise above themselves. Whenever I speak to a new colleague now, I am always curious about where they might be in a few years’ time. Growing together gives a lot of energy.”

“In all this time, Bizzomate has really remained itself. Our core values still stand proud. By not always putting business interests as the highest goal, but by investing a lot of time in equal partnerships, by spending time on corporate social responsibility projects and through the absence of hierarchical structures, you move away from business relationships and towards personal relationships, with both colleagues and clients.”

“I hope that in the next 10 years we can maintain the same culture and values that have made Bizzomate great. I hope we can keep that pioneering mentality and inspire other companies as well. We will undoubtedly grow as a company, with all the changes that come with it, but our culture and values are what set Bizzomate apart from the rest.”
